Family as a stage.
Milan was the setting chosen by Domenico Formichetti to present LIFE AT DENTE! THE FAMILY RECIPE, PDF’s Fall/Winter 2026 collection, during the city’s fashion week. Far from a conventional runway show, the Italian designer conceived the project as a five-act theatrical performance inside the historic Teatro Lirico Milanese.
Formichetti once again understands fashion as something to be lived, not as an abstract idea. This time, he starts from the family as a place where love and pressure exist side by side. “Family is where love and pressure coexist. It feeds you, shapes you and sometimes traps you,” explains the designer, setting the tone for a collection that reflects on what we inherit and what we choose to keep.
A five-act theatrical performance
The first act revolves around the family table. Models sit, wait and observe. The clothes convey a sense of protection and restraint, with precise but worn tailoring, heavy fabrics and garments that feel more like they come from the past than from a shop. Everything points to a domestic intimacy where routine becomes an image.
Later, the atmosphere shifts towards the night and the desire to escape. Silhouettes become more relaxed, proportions stretch and the energy grows. Then risk and power come into play, with a tension reflected in sharper lines and a constant struggle between control and impulse.
The finale works as a moment of pause. In the last act, with a live musical performance by Formichetti alongside a singer, the story finds a balance between precision and fragility. The runway turns into a shared space where memory, emotion and intention intersect.
Throughout the performance, models move from stillness to motion, from sitting to walking the runway, reinforcing the idea that each look carries its own story. Footwear remains one of the key elements defining the identity of the collection.
A real and symbolic family
The casting reinforces the personal nature of the project. Figures from the Italian and American scenes close to PDF’s universe, such as Sfera Ebbasta, Shiva, Tony Boy, Nerissima Serpe and Papa V, took part in the show, highlighting the idea of an “extended family”. In the front row, names like Rafael Leão, Moise Kean, Tedua, Sierra Rena, Miles Sanders, Pyrex and Jacob Rott confirmed the cultural reach of the project.
Meanwhile, the collaboration with Napapijri brought a technical dimension to the narrative, integrating iconic pieces like the Bering bag and the Skidoo and Rainforest jackets into PDF’s language.
With LIFE AT DENTE! THE FAMILY RECIPE, Formichetti continues to move PDF away from classic streetwear and towards a more personal and narrative space. It is not about nostalgia, but about understanding where you come from in order to decide where you are going. As the designer puts it, “you don’t choose the recipe you’re born into, but you decide how to cook it.”
