The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) announced this Monday at Rockefeller Center that Peso Pluma will be the first Mexican ambassador for New York Fashion Week, this marks the start of the NYFW festivities.

The 26-year-old singer shares this recognition with Thom Browne, CFDA Chairman; designers Michael Kors and Anna Sui; and ambassadors Anok Yai and Young Miko. His appointment reflects his influence in both music and style. It also consolidates his role as a bridge for Mexican culture on a global stage.

Press materials highlight that the “Hollywood” singer places Mexican music at the centre of one of the most influential fashion stages. This confirms his position as a style reference and cultural pioneer.

2025 has been an intense year for Peso Pluma. In addition to promoting regional Mexican music internationally, he has broken records. His 2024 album, Éxodo, reached 29.8 million global streams on Spotify in its first 24 hours, a milestone for a Mexican artist. The album featured collaborations with Cardi B, Rich the Kid, Quavo, DJ Snake, Anitta, Arcángel, and others.
