‘Piece by Piece’: Pharrell’s biopic through LEGO

Produced by Focus Features and directed by Morgan Neville, the feature film will tell the story of the creative’s extensive career in an original way.

The confirmation came in the form of an Instagram post, where Pharrell shared the first teaser of the project. In it, we see different lego pieces following one another to form his own figure dressed in the iconic Minecraft costume that he presented in his first proposal for Louis Vuitton as creative director. “Who would have thought that playing with LEGOs as a child would turn into a film about my life? It’s proof that anyone can do it too,” he captions.

At the moment, no further details about the film have been revealed, but the production company has said that “Piece by Piece defies genres and expectations to transport audiences to a LEGO world where anything is possible”.

Director Morgan Neville says, “Five years ago, Pharrell Williams approached me with the idea of helping him tell his story through LEGO animation. It was one of those rare moments where I knew in a split second that this was a journey I wanted to take”.
