Florence will once again set the pace for men’s fashion. From 13 to 16 January 2026, the Fortezza da Basso will host Pitti Uomo 109, opening the new season with the theme “Fashion is Motion” — a reflection on movement as a driving force for change and creativity.
The concept, shared across all of Pitti Immagine’s winter fairs, celebrates fashion’s ability to transform and move forward without pause. This visual campaign, directed by Chris Vidal and Tuomas Laitinen (Ssaw), uses black-and-white imagery to capture the energy of gesture, complemented by garments designed by Soshi Otsuki.
The fair will feature two leading figures. Hed Mayner, the Israeli designer based in Paris and winner of the LVMH Karl Lagerfeld Prize 2019, will present a special show in Florence. His work, balancing structure and fluidity, transforms tailoring into a sculptural language.
Meanwhile, Soshi Otsuki, winner of the LVMH Prize 2025, will make his debut at Pitti with a proposal that merges Japanese heritage with modern sensibility. “It’s a Made in Japan reinterpreted through the lens of Made in Italy,” says Francesca Tacconi from Pitti Immagine.
After welcoming more than 11,400 buyers at its previous edition, Pitti Uomo reaffirms its role as a meeting point between business and creativity. In 2026, it moves forward once again — with Mayner and Otsuki as its creative driving force.
