The two designers dyed the minimalist New York runway in shades of pink, with sequins, rhinestones and denim.
The room was filled with underwater sounds: “We were inspired by people trying to save marine reefs,” Qu explained. The jeans were embroidered with sequins made of biodegradable plastic, meaning that microorganisms can break it down on contact with soil, and the nylon of the hemmed shorts sets was recyclable polyester.
Mini skirts, dresses, two-piece sets and ruffled cardigans arrived in romantic warm tones, while other more sober garments were decorated with exaggerated shoulder pads and shoulder straps. Denim skirt and pant hybrids were paired with corsets and frayed overshirts.
