Napapijri is making another move alongside Domenico Formichetti’s PDF, developing a capsule collection that reimagines the brand’s historic icons from a much more urban, experimental, and provocative perspective.
The collaboration was born after the impact of last season’s FW runway hack, when Formichetti reinterpreted the legendary Skidoo. Now, that first gesture has become a complete collection that takes the conversation further: real outdoor mixed with avant-garde energy, without asking permission.
The capsule collection works on the basis of contrasts. Recognizable silhouettes—Skidoo, Rainforest, Bering—are transformed through exaggerated volumes, cut-and-sewn cuts, and prints that break with the classic Napapijri look. Everything remains functional, but with a new attitude. There are striped polo shirts taken to the street, oversized outerwear with technical precision, and a color palette that connects mountain and city without nostalgia.
What’s interesting is not just the aesthetics, but the approach. PROGETTO NAPAPIJRI BY PDF takes garments designed for protection and turns them into pieces of expression. It’s clothing that still works against the weather, but now also speaks the language of the street.
The collection will be presented at this PDF fashion show during Milan Fashion Week, which starts today, but is already available globally at selected retailers and online at napapijri.com and pdfchannel.com.
