Moon Boots are the boots that have taken Instagram by storm and, as well as being ideal for après ski, they have also conquered streetstyle. Inspired by astronaut footwear, iconic in the 70s, they are now back on trend for their versatility and personality.
The Moon Boot became the perfect model for the snow since its creation in the 1970s. The young Italian shoemaker Giancarlo Zanatta visited New York to observe the 1969 lunar landing and was so fascinated by the shape of the astronauts’ boots that he began to devise what would become one of the most innovative silhouettes in the footwear industry: the Moon Boot.
This is the shoe that revolutionised the fashion system when it was launched on the market in the early 1970s. A decade in which great personalities of the artistic world, such as Linda McCartney, opted for them in their looks. The silhouette has been renewed in colours and details over the years, but without renouncing its essence, which is why it will once again be a trend in 2022.
Although it may seem impossible, versatility goes hand in hand with these boots. Just look at Kendall Jenner or Dua Lipa who even pair them with a bikini. Created to make you feel comfortable after a long day of skiing, the famous “rests” have been taking more and more presence in the events until becoming an indispensable option in your looks.
Moon Boots are made from nylon, polyester and thermoplastic rubber, which is why they are so durable. The brand’s most iconic boot is a cushioned boot, higher than the ankle but lower than the knee, with a moon landing structure and laces that zig-zag from the toe to the top of the foot.

Following the same lines as the original model called Icon, its low version is becoming more and more popular among celebrities because it is easier to wear. In khaki colour and with fur, they are the options that have been the most popular this Winter 2021/2022, being sold out everywhere. Because never before has it been so easy to protect yourself from the cold and follow the trends.
