Textures that clash and reconcile, shapes that glide between eras, colours that speak with multiple accents…
rabanne‘s Pre-Fall 2026 proposal dictates a freedom that does not imply noise or artifice. It is a study of contrasts with a hybrid intention, where classic sophistication is contaminated with contemporary freshness. The key silhouettes function as authentic collages with a life of their own: a suede coat with Western echoes and a vintage spirit; a Victorian dress that translates the comfort of the present; or a fitted jacket that coexists with a wavy sequinned top.
The chain mail – an indelible symbol of the House – is now reinterpreted as a kind of fluid ornament. It cascades over a knitted dress and drapes like a low-rise skirt. At the same time, embroidered layers emerge timidly from collars and hems, providing an intimate interpretation of the detail.
Among the surprises in “HYBRID AGE” we find oversized aviator sunglasses in maroon lacquered leather, combined with a tulle skirt embroidered with enchanted flowers; or a long, flowing, fitted knit dress, which contrasts with western boots and a 1969 bag reinvented with sheepskin discs.
Femininity is subtly encoded, with silver ties marking the waist, a sky blue jumper studded with stars, and the XL buckle featured in the previous collection, which is now even bolder.
The spirit of the 1950s inspires beachwear, with loose bandeaus, pencil skirts and knotted shirts. All this with a carefree air, where silver sequinned ballet flats, oversized flip-flops and body jewellery coexist. There is also room for retro graphic stripes from the 70s, as well as synthetic florals, beaded fringes and wavy embroidery.
The accessories advance rabanne‘s new visual language. The 1969 bag adopts the baguette shape, while the iconic Ring is updated in two versions—an XL tote and a mini handbag. Chocolate brown raffia and metal merge in a bucket bag that sums up the spirit of the season.
