Fashion shows, especially those of multi-million dollar brands, have the power to transform any scenario and transfer us to a magical place for a few moments. Sometimes overproduction makes the clothes themselves look dull. But this has not been the case. Last night, the American brand turned a former bank into a luxurious Art Deco club.
Welcome to “Ralph’s Club”: the place that opened only for one night. After nearly a month of work, they transformed an empty bank on Wall Street into an exclusive jazz nightclub where Ralph Lauren (@ralphlauren) presented his fall collection.
The night tops with white bibs and uncovered shoulders played a major role, as did the trimmed backs and the very pronounced V-shaped necklines. However, the star garment was the tuxedo. There was also a lot of black satin everywhere. Most models wore double-buttoned satin jackets in primary colors over classic black pants and white shirts. Others wore shorter, tighter velvet versions.
Halfway through the show, the tuxedos gave way to red-carpet dresses. Continuing with the previous chromatic range, the dresses with strategically placed drapes and satin designs were present in black and white and touches of colour in red and klein blue. However, if we had to keep only one look, we kept the red dress that Bella wore (@bellahadid) and that broke the monotony of black and white.
In short, as Ralph Lauren himself stated, Fall 2019 celebrates this timeless style for the modern, independent and contemporary woman.
