The moment has finally arrived. On 1 and 2 March, Madrid’s Movistar Arena became the epicentre of urban music, with Rels B taking to the stage to kick off his A New Star World Tour. And if there were any doubts as to whether the Mallorcan was ready to conquer the world, those doubts were immediately dispelled. At HIGHXTAR we experienced it first hand with photographer @brunoalonss and here we tell you how those two nights literally made history.
From the first second, the atmosphere was charged with a unique energy. The lights dimmed, and the Movistar Arena roared. The wait was long, but Rels B knew it: his fans wanted him, they needed him and, above all, they were ready to give themselves to him. And they did. There wasn’t a hint of doubt in the venue. With both dates sold out, the stage was ready for a show that left nothing to chance.
The show began with the power that only he knows how to transmit. Six backing singers, a first class band of musicians, a team of dancers who gave their all in every movement and giant screens that enveloped the audience at every change of scene. But, beyond the visual display, what really made an impact was Rels B’s connection with his people. Every word sung, every look at the audience, was filled with a closeness that only the greats can achieve. The show wasn’t just his, it belonged to all of us who were there.
The setlist was a journey. From the first chords of ‘LOVE IT’ to the emotional closing with ‘Lo que hay x aquí’, Rels B didn’t leave a song unsung. The anthems that have marked his career, such as ‘A Mi’, ‘Mi Luz’ with RVFV and ‘Tienes el Don’, were received with screams and clapping that vibrated the Movistar Arena. But the most impressive thing was to see how their new album, a new star (1 9 9 3), blended perfectly with the classics. Tracks like ‘Te Regalo’ with J Abecia or ‘Un Desperdicio’ felt as if we had been singing them all our lives. The audience had already made them their own.
A particularly epic moment was the appearance of Rels B on a stage charged with energy and colour. His every move was perfectly synchronised with the giant screens and dancers, creating an atmosphere of pure magic. The feeling of witnessing something unique was palpable. And not only because of what was happening on stage, but also because of the reaction of the audience. The thousands of people chanted every lyric, every verse, as if it was the last time they would ever do so.
But what was really surprising was the naturalness with which Rels B moved through the songs, demonstrating why he has come so far. His presence, his attitude and, of course, his voice, made it clear that the Mallorcan has managed to overcome the barrier of being just a local star. Now, his name is shining brightly in the firmament of global music.
The A New Star World Tour is not just a tour, it is a declaration of intent. Rels B has made it clear that he not only wants to be part of the change in urban music, but that he is here to lead it. After Madrid, the tour will take him to cities like Buenos Aires (sold out), Mexico City (triple sold out), Barcelona, Quito and Medellín, but without a doubt, the most awaited moment will be his return home, on 28 June, at the Son Moix Stadium in Mallorca, where the public will welcome him as the true king of the island.
At HIGHXTAR we have no doubt that this is just the beginning of a 2025 that will mark a before and after in Rels B’s career.
