Rihanna reveals why her new album is not out yet

For eight years we’ve been waiting for new songs to take over from hits like Umbrella, but that never happens, despite the artist’s promises. Something that is starting to tire her fans and even the artist herself when asked about it. “I want to know too,” she responded on Wednesday when asked about R9.

The artist explained that she hadn’t felt ready to release her new album, saying, “It has to be [amazing] – that’s the only reason it’s not out yet. If I don’t feel it and I don’t feel like it represents the evolution, the time I spent away. There should be a show of growth, right? I want to play, and I feel like music is a playground, and I want to have fun with it and really show where I’m at.”

So yes, everything seems to point to the artist wanting the next thing with her name on it to not be close to perfect, but perfect, and until it is, Rihanna will just postpone the release of her music. Will we wait forever, then?
