ROSALÍA unveils “Berghain”, a new single and video from her forthcoming album LUX, set for release on 7 November via Columbia Records. “Berghain” is the grand orchestral piece that forms the second movement of LUX — an operatic journey through languages and emotions featuring Björk and Yves Tumor. Sung in German, Spanish, and English, “Berghain” shifts from gentle introspection to overwhelming cinematic power, balancing intimacy and grandeur in a world that feels both deeply personal and boundless in scale.
The music video was produced by CANADA and directed by Nicolás Méndez, a frequent collaborator of ROSALÍA known for directing “Malamente”, “TKN” and “Pienso En Tu Mirá”. Filmed in Warsaw, Poland, the video follows a woman going through a process of grief as she struggles to heal her broken heart. In the end, the protagonist finds comfort and healing through spirituality.
LUX sees ROSALÍA serve as executive producer and was recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra, featuring contributions from Björk, Carminho, Estrella Morente, Silvia Pérez Cruz, Yahritza, and Yves Tumor. The CD and vinyl editions include three exclusive tracks, inviting listeners to experience the album in its most immersive form.
Last week, ROSALÍA introduced LUX with a monumental takeover of Madrid’s Gran Vía, during which she switched off all the lights in the area, plunged the city into darkness, and then reignited it to reveal the album’s official cover — all captured live for fans around the world. ROSALÍA is a two-time Grammy® and thirteen-time Latin Grammy® award-winning artist and producer redefining global pop with her bold musical fusion and singular visual language. Her breakthrough album El Mal Querer reimagined flamenco for a new era, earning her a Grammy® and eight Latin Grammys®, including Album of the Year, making her the first Spanish-language artist ever nominated for the Grammy® Award for Best New Artist. In 2022, she released MOTOMAMI, which she wrote, performed, recorded, and produced herself. The album debuted at number one on Spotify’s global album chart, received the highest Metacritic score of the year, and fuelled her sold-out MOTOMAMI WORLD TOUR.
