Sen Senra returns to his roots in “No quiero ser un cantante”

Sen Senra begins a new stage with this powerful release “No quiero ser un cantante” which comes with a video clip.

Galician artist Senra Senra begins a new stage with this powerful release “No quiero ser un cantante” which is accompanied by a video clip filmed in his hometown in Pontevedra by Torso.

Sen Senra doesn’t want to be a singer, but it’s too late for that. The truth is that the Galician is something better: he’s a star. “No quiero ser un cantante” is the most recent of his hits, in which he continues to refine the rapped-but-not-rapped pop formula that has brought him to the privileged position he is in now. The artist is now also starting a relationship with SON Estrella Galicia, the beer music project that seeks to promote projects that are set to transform the scene while at the same time supporting its origins.

With each new release by Senra, one has the sensation of being in front of his definitive artistic statement. That’s why each new release generates so much expectation. On this occasion, “No quiero ser un cantante” is a song that marks the beginning of a new phase for him. Senra, always with an eye on the music to come, builds bridges between different genres. Combining styles has never been the best vehicle for acceptance, but only in this way do the chosen artists manage to generate new currents.

The visuals come from one of the biggest names of the moment, Torso, bringing together their two worlds – that of music and fashion – and making a statement that marks a before and after for a moment that is theirs. Torso is a pair of directors renowned for their campaigns for brands such as Mugler, Jean Paul Gaultier and Burberry.

As well as being well-known figures in the fashion industry, artists such as Kali Uchis, Nicki Minaj and Shakira have previously worked with the duo. “I don’t want to be a singer”, therefore, gives us a glimpse into the personal universe of the Galician artist. The video clip, made in collaboration with SON Estrella Galicia, was filmed in San Miguel de Presqueiras and in the piece he appears surrounded by neighbours from the Pontevedra town where he grew up.

True to his faith, Senra’s assault on global stardom has not made him forget his roots. “Poco y de calité”, one of the maxims that has brought him this far, resonates loudly in this new release. Sen Senra doesn’t want to be a singer, he has something better planned for 2023 and we can’t wait to see it.
