Shang Xia offers a contrasting perspective on contemporary oriental aesthetics

Under the creative direction of Yang Li, the Chinese brand is embarking on a discreet adventure based on a fusion of post-modern, streamlined and minimalist designs.

The fluidity, lightness and transparency of the garments meet with rigorous design and tailoring, geometric cuts and folding structures. Mini qipao dresses, cotton voile sets and ming striped coats, among many other surprises, where ruffled details and accessories play with textures and perspectives. The dresses with double-sided petal hems or shirts in bright colours such as purple, jade or celadon, and adorned with festive prints and symbols of prosperity and longevity, also stand out.

Shang Xia ventures into the world of jewellery this season with brooches and necklaces made of ronghua silk flowers, and dares new creations in footwear with a pair of punk platforms and leather mules with a teacup heel. Finally, the brand’s iconic triangular bag is reinvented in a raffia baguette format.
