SHOOP presents the lookbook of its FW24 collection

Miriam Sanz and Yohei Oki have always been inspired by their real life experiences and this sense of intuition and familiarity has been consistently reflected in SHOOP’s collections. In 2023, the brand moves to Tokyo where it returns to show at Rakuten Fashion Week for the SS24 season. Now, SHOOP has just presented its latest FW24 collection at its new headquarters. His designs for this season delve even deeper into his own sensibilities, while subtly incorporating conceptual themes.

Their perspectives, born from the realities of winter in Japan – new to Miriam and her beloved daughter, but familiar to Oki after several years – capture the minimalism of people’s attire, designed to withstand the cold and meet the demands of everyday life. This sensibility is cultivated from exposure to different cultures, resulting in a selection of timeless garments that integrate easily into everyday life.

In addition to integrating elements such as sportswear, workwear and military wear – masculine yet universal – into his designs, SHOOP’s aesthetic is expressed through material textures, subtle colour contrasts and clean-cut techniques. His perspective naturally brings a sense of freshness to his creations. Warm, cosy mohair textures add to a cohesive colour palette of black, grey, cream, burgundy and beige, along with symbolic details that add depth to the simplicity of his designs, such as numerology and infinity symbols.

His collection not only offers practicality for everyday life and functionality, but also uniquely reflects the emotional nuances of winter. This suggests that SHOOP’s exploration of the seasons and the culture of Japan is an interplay of emotions and sensations, with his designs serving as a visual narrative of this close relationship.

SHOOP SS24 shows at Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo.
