In Willy Chavarria’s SS20 collection (@willychavarrianewyork), the designer makes a clear contrast between the eccentric and the minimalist. That’s why he doesn’t hesitate to combine satin fabric with denim and graphics, creating a refined and peculiar atmosphere at the same time.
Chavarria’s attention is mainly focused on the silhouette of each of the pieces in which draping and utilitarian volumes stand out. In this way, it shows that he fits perfectly into this new generation of fashion.
The collection is inspired by both the house scene and the disco from New York in the early 1990s. It includes the faded neons and the eye-catching colours so characteristic of the time. He has also collaborated with the brand K-Swiss (@kswiss) to create a custom shoe by modifying different components of its appearance.
