Stella McCartney and adidas launch “Rasant” trainers

The unisex design debuted at the British designer’s Summer 2025 collection show during Paris Fashion Week, where they were worn both on and off the catwalk by influential figures from the shared Stella McCartney and adidas communities. These included Olympic medallist Tom Daley, athlete Anna Hall and model Alex Consani, who also appears in the launch campaign.

The Rasant model is inspired by vintage racing shoes and an iconic design from Stella McCartney’s first collection in 2001. Its high-top silhouette is crafted from vegan materials, reflecting both brands’ commitment to sustainability and animal welfare. The name “Rasant” comes from the German word for “fast,” in honor of its motorsport roots. It also pays homage to the adidas Monza shoe, popular in the 1970s and 1980s, worn by legendary drivers such as Mario Andretti and Michèle Mouton, a female pioneer in motorsport.

This design blends fashion and high-performance functionality, with details like layered laces that add movement, a natural color palette and a streamlined shape. Plus, it incorporates innovative alternatives to nubuck leather that are 100% cruelty-free. Stella McCartney and adidas’ collaboration began in 2005 and has been a pioneer in the design of sustainable, high-performance sportswear. The partnership has supported athletes who break barriers, including the British team’s kit at the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Since its inception, the collection has distinguished itself through its commitment to innovation and sustainability, setting a precedent in the world of sportswear.
