Following the filming of the long-awaited spin-off movie, the franchise’s creator has revealed that the return of Birmingham’s iconic characters will not mark the end of the story.
In a recent chat with Jane Mulkerrins for Times Radio, Knight confirmed that the Peaky Blinders film has been completed, although a release date has not yet been confirmed. ‘It’s a bit early to say, but you could say it’s coming in a year or so,’ he said.
But the really interesting part came when asked about the future of the franchise, to which Knight replied: ‘The film is coming out, but that won’t be the end of it’. And while he didn’t give any specific details about new projects – whether it’s a series or another feature film – he made it clear that there’s more to come.
The project, which will reunite Cillian Murphy as Tommy Shelby, will feature an all-star cast including Rebecca Ferguson, Barry Keoghan, Tim Roth and Stephen Graham. Fans of the series, who have followed the adventures of the Shelbys since 2013, will be able to see on the big screen what happens when Birmingham‘s most powerful families face new threats.
