Stone Island explores the heart of its creative community in ‘Infinity Colours’

A feature film directed by the visionary Ken-Tonio Yamamoto and shot entirely in the brand’s experimental and design nerve centre.

It is a ‘docupoem’: a fusion of documentary narrative and poetic elements that captures the essence of Stone Island through the eyes of those who bring its garments to life.

Infinite Colours is not just a film, but an immersion into the creative process that defines the prestigious brand. From the selection of materials to the construction, dyeing and archiving of the garments, Yamamoto turns his camera on the employees, whom he calls ‘the lifeblood of this organism’. More than a tribute to the designers, this film celebrates the community that transforms bold ideas into tangible realities.

The story is built on powerful images: from night shots of the illuminated headquarters to the moments when the building comes to life at dawn. The film highlights the importance of error as a trigger for innovation, and the unbreakable connection between manual labour and mechanical processes.

Combining employee testimonials with archival footage and detailed shots of key pieces from Stone Island‘s history such as the SS ‘082 Stella Fabric or the Pure Metal Shell JacketsSilver and Bronze AW “999-”000, the audiovisual piece presents each garment as an art object, revealing its materiality and its place in the brand’s evolving narrative.
