Pushing the boundaries of innovation.
This season, Stone Island has decided to explore the art of corrosion by applying it to nylon. An unprecedented technique that makes each piece unique and unrepeatable.
The process starts with a recycled nylon jacket with multi-axial padding, which is initially dyed and then subjected to a precise combination of physical and chemical processes that partially remove the colour. The result? An irregular, organic pattern reminiscent of traditional Japanese indigo dyeing, where imperfection becomes a symbol of authenticity.
Thus, the 4100117 NYLON REPS-TC CORROSION TREATMENT—worn by musician Isaac Hale—is built on an impeccable technical foundation: ultra-dense yet lightweight nylon, an inner resin coating that offers wind and water resistance, and PrimaLoft® padding arranged in a multi-axial pattern that maximises thermal comfort. The garment is completed with a water-repellent treatment and functional design details such as an extended back hem, slanted pockets, a V-neckline, and a double-closure placket in contrasting nylon. The iconic Stone Island badge appears on the left sleeve, sealing the piece.
This garment embodies the brand’s obsession with textile experimentation, where colour, material and time are blended together with the aim of creating new surfaces.
