Telfar returns to NYFW with a powerful mega-collection

TELFAR was back in physical action at New York Fashion Week to roll out an exciting post-season mega-collection.

TELFAR returned to physical action at New York Fashion Week to unveil an exciting post-season mega-collection that had been two years in the making. The show, entitled PERFORMANCE, was streamed so that fans could experience this historic fashion moment live, albeit through blue light.

Telfar Clemens‘ inclusive brand presented its proposal at the South Street Seaport, an enigmatic location that was unveiled just a few hours before the event. In this space, the designer and visionary continued to develop his own narrative that has led him to dissociate himself (for the better) from the fashion system.

A DISRUPTIVE SYMBIOSIS

The show was divided into two parts: the first part of athletic-inspired luxury sportswear and a denim-only part. In the opening, Clemens explored the creation of an all-sport line, between asymmetrical lycra tops and performance leggings that evoked his designs for the Liberia 2020 Olympic team’s uniform.

In this first chapter, other pieces such as oversized “customer” T-shirts, XXL tracksuit shorts and baseball maxi-shirts were featured alongside his iconic archive bags, as well as a new one dubbed “The Circle”.

The second part of the collection, which put the focus on denim, could be seen in his popular cropped slouchy jeans, some with wide legs and asymmetrical cuts, maxi and mini skirts in raw denim or sleeveless crop denim jackets, combined with the brand’s logo belts, loafers and sturdy knee-high boots.

Shortly before the end of the night, one of Telfar’s Zentai-clad assistants ventured into the crowd with a Q/R code that linked directly to the new handbag release.

TELFAR’s autumn/winter 2022 collection will be launched weekly on TELFAR TV from this very moment.
