Teo Lucadamo presents with Ciutat Te Vas A Curar, the latest track from El dilema del rapero blanco. In Teo’s words: ‘My collaboration with Ciutat started a couple of years ago when we met. We became friends right away and it was only a matter of time until we made a song together. The song was made at El Royale together with Roy Borland and Yero g. Jordi brought an idea of harmony that he looked at with Roy while Guim and Mario prepared the percussion. At the same time I was writing the lyrics’.
The song, inspired by bossa nova, jazz and with trip hop elements, ends with an interminable speech of thanks to all those involved in the album, both on the recording side as well as the artistic and family side. It is an opportunity for Teo to let off steam and make clear the intention of the album, ‘what is this thing about wanting to belong to the hip hop culture?
‘This lyric is about how I’ve dealt with my sexuality over the years, the frustrations and bad things I’ve been through, but it ends with an optimistic moral ‘You’re going to heal’. Many months after writing the song I can say that I’m cured, and I’m very happy’. – Teo Lucadamo.
With the release of Te Vas A Curar, the public continues to discover what will be ‘El Dilema del Rapero Blanco’, one of the most original projects on the scene and a turning point in Teo’s career. The powerful concept behind El Dilema del Rapero Blanco is backed by a retro and minimalist sound inspired by 1990-2000’s hip hop and names like Pharrell Williams, Q-Tip or Outkast, but without ignoring the influence of contemporary artists like Kendrick Lamar or Tyler the Creator.
The artist continues to build his way towards the release of the album that will be released on 21 March.
