Celebrating the world’s first Cristalino Añejo tequila and Mexican culture in style.
On the occasion of the Day of the Dead, one of the most respected holidays, Mexico‘s most acclaimed tequila and the renowned fashion designer have decided to join forces once again to create the Tequila Don Julio 70 Añejo Cristalino ‘Artist Edition’ bottle. A tribute to the country’s traditions that finds its main inspiration in California’s San Joaquin Valley and Chavarría‘s own love of art and design.
In this way, he imbues the bottle with meticulous hand-crafted details that reflect his particular imagery in the form of roses and interpretations of the classic Mexican iconography of the aforementioned holiday. A reflection of all those Mexicans who live for love.
‘I am deeply inspired by my Mexican heritage, which I strive to represent through my art and design,’ says Willy. ‘The bottle of Tequila Don Julio 70 Añejo Cristalino Artist Edition along with my recent collection is a heartfelt illustration of the synergy between the time-honoured tradition and modernism of Mexico,’ he adds.
Aged to perfection for 18 months in American white oak barrels, Tequila Don Julio 70 Añejo Cristalino offers the rich complexities of a traditional Añejo with a modern twist. This special liquid embodies the essence of innovation, as it was the first Añejo Cristalino Tequila to apply a charcoal filtration process that gives it a pure crystalline hue and brings out the crisp agave flavour usually found in a Blanco, marking an evolution in luxury tequila.
This autumn, Tequila Don Julio will take advantage of various celebrations across the country to unveil the bottle, starting with Willy Chavarría‘s Spring/Summer 2025 fashion show in New York. During the show, an exclusive capsule collection inspired by Tequila Don Julio will be unveiled. This will be followed by Mexican Independence Day in Chicago and Day of the Dead in Los Angeles.
