The new TG Botanical Autumn-Winter 2024 collection is inspired by the concept of “māteria”, which the designer considers the only possible objective reality, the one we can feel.
The collection refers to the various surfaces of the earth: the ground, the countryside seen from a bird’s perspective and the volcanic desert. The designer attempts to recreate these in the collection with a variety of materials, using distinctive edging methods such as quilting, distressing and stitching with elastic threads. These methods help the designer to make each garment more tactile and interactive in terms of the wearer’s senses.
The collection consists of easy-to-wear loungewear, textured knits, bustier dresses and more. The colour palette is neutral with an emphasis on earth tones (khaki, graphite, volcanic grey) and a bright touch of light green.
TG Botanical presents the first collaboration with Dasha Tsapenko’s bio-workshop in the AW24 collection. Artist Dasha Tsapenko made a unique selection of knitted styles made with yarns of natural plant origin and inoculated with spores of the polypore fungus. This project is a manifesto of collaboration and co-creation in its broadest sense: between brands (TG Botanical x Atelier Dasha Tsapenko), disciplines, countries and between species (humans x fungi).
The TG Botanical AW24 collection is an expression of the unique primary energy hidden in the earth: the source of life on the planet that gives and receives. With the new collection designer Tetyana Chumak wants to remind us that we are all māteria and that it can be both dark and heavenly.
