The 2010 aesthetic returns with Miu Miu FW23

The designer Miuccia Prada is relying on the stylistic codes that dominated the late 2000s era for Miu Miu FW23.

Miuccia Prada is going back to the style codes that dominated the late 2000s era for Miu Miu. Coloured tights, peep toes, XXS glasses, knitted cardigans or leggings: we tell you the latest that the Italian brand has presented for the spring/summer 2023 season.

As we all know, in this industry everything comes back, but in a renewed and updated way. And, although we were a little afraid of the return of 2010, Miuccia Prada has managed to make this return a very appetising one. The Miu Miu FW23 collection offers us demure yet feminine looks full of nostalgia in a relaxed colour palette that ranges from purple to moss green, grey, brown, black and navy blue.

Gone are the viral micro skirts that Miu Miu presented in 2022. For next season, the creative director is inspired by the styles of a time we thought would never come back. The brand is opting for mini babydoll dresses with glitter and coloured tights, peep toe shoes, kitten heels, leggings with sweatshirts along with coats and parkas, its metalassé bags, librarian glasses, over-the-knee skirts and XXS shorts.

As the brand says, “Miuccia Prada’s Miu Miu FW23 collection focuses on the instinctive process of looking, the ways of seeing and how an act of observation can, in turn, transform the object of its focus. Looking is a window to thinking. Technique and materialisation can actively change the way costumes are visually read and how we understand them”. In this way, we say goodbye to Y2K to welcome a new era.
