Which emerging artist should we listen to? That was the question we asked you on our Instagram profile hoping to find out about new promises that would make us vibrate. After receiving many proposals, we discovered 6 artists for you as we do every month. Don’t worry if your name doesn’t come up because we will continue with the monthly recommendations.
Lately, our Instagram DMs are always full of Spotify links sent to us by users who want us to listen to and cover the young up-and-comers who are making waves on the national scene. “Tag an up-and-coming artist you think is promising and write the title of one of their best tracks,” we posted on our profile at the time. In less than 24 hours we received almost 500 comments with the most popular songs in the country. So that all these interesting projects don’t get stuck in the DM, we choose 6 artists every month and talk about them and their music.
CARREÑO
We met CARREÑO through María Blaya and when we heard that he was making his solo debut with the single CONTIGO/CONMIGO, we couldn’t help but listen to it. It is a song that talks about how toxic masculinity destroys the artist’s relationship with his environment and with himself. With a powerful visual proposal, CARREÑO offers us the first of three singles, produced by himself, which aim to transmit, from his own perspective, the process of denial, depression and acceptance of oneself. CARREÑO has been directed by SergioSoSo, styling by Giovanni Franco and Cris Franchy, make-up by Hugo Trix and art by Jose Señorán.
Jade Parrish
Jade Parrish, currently living in Madrid, and one of the new promises of strip club rap, presents her new single DRILL DOLL, where she tells her story: stripper who lived in the Neükolln district of Berlin and worked in the Golden Dolls strip club. Her music was born from working in various strip clubs in Berlin during the last years. He started releasing his first mixtape in January 2023, which was a mix between old school and current slow rap and now he has moved on to drill, a style that is played a lot in the club where he used to work.
GG
GG is a 21-year-old artist and composer from Granada who brings a new vision of urban culture, appropriating many traditionally heterosexual codes of urban styles and bringing his vision to it. In this way, he becomes a reference for queer people, telling his story freely through music. We wouldn’t know what musical genre to put him in, it’s true that the base of everything is reggaeton and trap, but he still tries to play with more genres so that each project has its own sound.
CORTE!
Corte! is Gonzalo Barbero (Madrid, 1997) and was already a member of the quartet Carrera. Wanting to have his own voice and create his own path, this solo project was born. “Corte!” is his first EP of four songs in which he has no problem in putting on the table all the tribulations of the current music scene and industry. His musical influences? From Talking Heads, Lizzy Mercier to Dry Cleaning, via Yves Tumor.
BDRMM
Bdrmm is an emerging band with a captivating musical style that masterfully combines dream pop and shoegaze. Their music oscillates an ethereal melancholy creating an enveloping and evocative atmosphere within the reach of very few. With influences ranging from post-punk to Krautrock to 90’s alternative, Bdrmm have created a distinctive sound that appeals to both nostalgic music lovers and explorers of new soundscapes.
BAJOCERO
BAJOCERO is the stage name chosen by Daniel López Suárez to make himself known within the music industry, one of the emerging voices on the national scene who has found on TikTok (where he has more than 130,000 likes) a place to make his first singles known, as well as his electronic versions of great classics from history and hits from recent years.
