As we anticipated a few weeks ago, the drop includes the iconic Gazelle and F50, fusing the Puerto Rican rapper’s vibes with the multicultural essence of the Argentinian. One of the most unique collaborations of the season fuses the world of sport and the music industry like never before. Rafael Mayorga, adidas design director, revealed that both artists delved into the brand’s archives, taking inspiration from classic models.
adidas stresses that this union was born out of a deep mutual respect between the two ambassadors. Messi put it this way: ‘This campaign is a tribute to our fans. Music is intertwined in many moments of my life, and Bad Bunny is an essential artist in my playlist’. For his part, Bad Bunny, who stamped his signature ‘Benito’ on the models, commented: ‘Messi’s love for his country and his sport mirrors the love I have for music and Puerto Rico.
The Bad Bunny & Messi Gazelle features aniline leather in natural tones, which takes on a unique finish over time. The X-shaped stripes on the heel pay homage to Messi’s iconic number 10 jersey. The F50, meanwhile, maintains the same colour scheme, with touches of blue evoking the Argentinian flag. Every detail has been carefully considered, from the retro rubber soles of the Gazelle to the iridescent soles of the F50.
The Bad Bunny & Messi F50 and Gazelle are now available on the adidas CONFIRMED app and will be available in adidas flagship shops on October 26th.
