The collaboration reproduces Kartell’s most iconic chairs to fill Barbie’s world with sophistication.

The ‘barbiecore’ aesthetic permeates Kartell’s most iconic chairs

The collaboration between toy giant Mattel and Italian design house Kartellhave partnered to launch a limited collection of iconic chairs in Barbie’s signature pink colour, Pantone 219C. This multi-faceted collaboration will see the production of toys based on five of Kartell’s most iconic chairs (AI, Venice, Louis Ghost, Masters, Ero/s).

This collection in Barbie’s signature pink colour blurs the boundaries between toy and art and includes miniature replicas of chairs that were originally created almost entirely by Phillippe Starck. In addition, two life-size chairs, namely the Louis Ghost chair and the Masters chair, will be available online and on display during Milan Design Week.

This exclusive collection highlights sophisticated design and explores sustainable materials such as bamboo and 100% FSC recycled paper for packaging, offering a glimpse into the future of plastics. It also marks the debut of Barbie’s Signature collection dedicated exclusively to furniture.
