The chain that Alex Moss designed for Tyler, The Creator

The acclaimed New York jeweller adds another icon to his impeccable legacy.

When a genius like Tyler, The Creator releases an album, it is not only the music scene that is shaken. Fashion and aesthetic codes also suffer the effects of this contemporary phenomenon who has managed to build a very specific (and celebrated) imaginary of his own. Now, coinciding with the release of “Don’t Tap the Glass”, his latest studio work, the artist has entrusted Alex Moss to create a piece of jewellery that, far from following the manual of current urban luxury, decides to propose a completely new perspective.

The history between the two goes back to the very beginning of the jeweller’s career, as Tyler was his first VIP client, and their connection goes beyond the typical commission. For this special occasion, the instructions were clear: “go left”. A concept that, translated directly from Tyler’s language, means to do the opposite of what is expected.

Diamonds and heavy chains are a thing of the past in this exclusive new piece. Moss has opted for a 100% solid gold design with a 90s spirit, contemporary attitude and zero clichés. It is a tribute to 90s hip-hop jewellery, translated into the present with elegance and weight. Two chains dominate the ensemble: an oversized Byzantine chain and an XXL rope chain, both in 18 carat yellow gold and customised clasps by AMNY. The rope chain stars on the album cover, instantly becoming the symbol of this new creative era.

In the centre, a Saint Lazarus-style pendant, but with a self-portrait of Tyler that fuses religious tradition, streetwear culture and attitude. Impossible to replicate.
