CHANEL has just confirmed that it will unveil its 2026/27 Cruise collection in Biarritz, a location deeply linked to its DNA, representing a symbolic and emotional return to one of the Maison‘s founding chapters. In 1915, buoyed by the success of her boutique in Deauville, Gabrielle Chanel decided to open her first haute couture house in the Villa de Larralde. It was there that she set up the workshop where she began to build what would become a true aesthetic revolution.
That free, sophisticated and sporty Biarritz – an aristocratic retreat and favourite destination for modern women – shaped Gabrielle‘s vision. Between beaches, salons and relaxed luxury, CHANEL solidified a style that defied established codes and embraced a new idea of comfort, movement and elegance.
‘Biarritz plays a fundamental role in the history of CHANEL,’ explains Bruno Pavlovsky, President of CHANEL Fashion. ‘We are delighted that Matthieu Blazy has chosen this destination, so dear to the Maison, to present his first vision of the Cruise collection.’
