The South Korean entertainment conglomerate behind BTS, HYBE, and an American label that works with artists like Olivia Rodrigo called Geffen Records, have teamed up to train a group of girls from different countries around the world to become a global Girl Group through an audition program called “The Debut: Dream Academy”.

The 12-week program began on September 1 through HYBE’s YouTube channel and the project’s social networks, where we were able to meet the 20 finalists from among 120,000 candidates from around the world. Celeste, a 19-year-old Argentinian; Samara, a 17-year-old Brazilian; and Daniela, a 19-year-old Cuban-American from Atlanta, stand out among all of them.

The final will be broadcast live on November 17, and fans will be able to vote for the final members of the group through platforms such as TikTok and Weverse. In 2024, a docuseries will be released on Netflix that will narrate the process of the group’s formation and will be directed by Nadia Hallgren.
