In May, the FENDI by Marc Jacobs summer capsule collection combining opulence and streetwear arrives in stores on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the iconic Baguette bag.
Celebrating the 25th anniversary of FENDI’s iconic Baguette bag, the Italian brand has invited Marc Jacobs to launch a very special collection that connects opulence and streetwear. The designer brings contemporary motifs while keeping the classic FENDI house codes in the pieces. Jacobs’ capsule references New York’s Gilded Age in terms of shapes and everyday objects.
This powerful combination of everyday and fantasy is completed in a palette of bright colors, silver, gray, white, fluorescent yellow and black. Jacobs’ characteristic maximalist touch is palpable in the fluid and elongated proportions and silhouettes that make up the capsule. The main inspiration has been the iconic FENDI ROMA logo and the lines of the Baguette bag, which are extrapolated to ready-to-wear garments. Volumes create architectural constructions on oversized pieces such as jackets or cargo pants. Ripped jeans are elongated to dramatize the silhouette, made with acid washes. The house’s it-bag is reimagined in the form of a hoodie, with a front pocket in the shape of the Maxi Baguette bag.
The FENDI by Marc Jacobs Summer 2023 capsule collection will be available online and in stores from May 11.
