A series of jewels imagined by the acclaimed French designer and created exclusively by the jewellery house for the FW24 collection.
Yesterday, New York Fashion Week hosted the Ludovic de Saint Sernin fashion show, whose proposal is based on the figure of the photographer Robert Mapplethorpe. He is one of the greatest references in the Frenchman’s creative career, guiding him from his beginnings and serving as inspiration for this collection conceived as a collaboration between Ludovic and the late artist. In it, images from Mapplethorpe‘s archive and the characters in them are brought to life with thrilling delicacy.
In addition to sensual silhouettes in the form of lingerie dresses, chiffon waistcoats and organdy shirts, there was also a surprising collection of jewellery created in collaboration with TOUS, made in the brand’s workshops, in the form of bracelets, earrings and chokers plated in 18k gold with handmade black enamel.
“TOUS has an incredible expertise in the field of fine jewellery, which it has been cultivating for over a century, and we were completely fascinated by its history. Jewellery is a discreet but incredibly important part of Mapplethorpe’s work, so it was a great privilege to bring these pieces to life for TOUS,” says Ludovic de Saint Sernin himself.
