The immersive exhibition on the ‘Cristóbal Balenciaga’ series arrives to Madrid

In anticipation of the collective anticipation for the premiere of this couture production, the Cristóbal Balenciaga exhibition will open its doors on 21 December, as a pre-show or post-experience IRL after the film screening.

Based on the plot of the ‘Cristóbal Balenciaga‘ series, which will premiere on the platform on 19 January, this exhibition will transcend the screen to bring together real-life handcrafted replicas of the iconic designer’s most iconic dresses, created by Academy Award®-nominated costume designer Bina Daigeler for Walt Disney Studio’s live-action film “Mulan”.

According to Sofía Fábregas, Vice President of original production for Disney+ Spain, “the series ‘Cristóbal Balenciaga’ contains a unique universe that deserves to be shown. The production value has been exceptional. Every detail has been taken care of to the millimetre: from the impeccable art direction by Mikel Serrano; the handcrafted pattern making, respecting the technical rigour that characterised the Maestro, and which the team of Bina Daigeler and Pepo Ruiz Dorado have achieved in the approach to all the Balenciaga designs for the series. And the addition of the composer Alberto Iglesias, who envelops the exhibition in a majestic way. With this exhibition, we want to offer the viewer the unique and sensitive experience of perceiving first-hand the craftsmanship that has surrounded the entire process”.
