The impact of the Nike T90 SP’s return

According to JD Sports, demand in Spain has increased by 258%.

The swoosh giant has decided to bring back one of its biggest icons from the 2000s: the Nike Total 90 SP, a model that smells of wet earth, neighbourhood games and a lot of nostalgia. Having become a cultural phenomenon, they have skyrocketed searches on platforms such as TikTok, where the hashtag #T90 has already accumulated more than 156 million views and has become the favourite digital corner for those who grew up watching Ronaldinho play and Messi grow up.

In line with the phenomenon of the adidas Samba and Puma Palermo, the Nike T90 SP abandons its sporting essence to adopt a more street-style narrative. The reissue commemorates the 25th anniversary of the debut of the Total 90 line and retains the same robust structure that won over an entire generation.

The selected colourways – silver/red and white/gold/orange – are a direct nod to the aesthetics of Euro 2004. And that’s no coincidence. Alongside them, the Total 90 shirts have been reissued, with the iconic circular panels on the men’s shirts and that athletic fit so characteristic of the golden years of European football.

In 2025, urban sportswear is experiencing a bold comeback, driven by nostalgia. From oversized kits to iconic sneaker silhouettes, football style is setting the trend in urban fashion. At the forefront of this trend is the adidas Samba, which has gone from being an indoor staple to a must-have item throughout Spain. Now, Nike is reigniting the movement with the return of the Total 90 SP. More than just sneakers, these evoke a deep sense of nostalgia, recalling golden times. With their bold design and quality finishes, the T90 SP fit perfectly into this era where fashion also tells stories. Wearing them is not just a matter of style, it’s a connection to the past.”
