A must-have since 1933, the Lacoste polo shirt has established itself over the years as an emblematic piece of French elegance.

For its 90th anniversary, Lacoste celebrates this iconic and transgenerational essential by presenting five special edition polo shirts. To do so, the brand‘s team has focused on embodying the diversity and cultural richness of the famous crocodile emblem.

In 1933, René Lacoste cut off the sleeves of his shirt, going against the classic uniform imposed on tennis players at the time. A fact that, at first glance, seemed insignificant, but which turned out to be a great revolution that made him proclaim himself the inventor of polo.

Through this simple but significant act, he chose to defy the codes of tennis clothing at the time and thus prioritise freedom of movement thanks to a silhouette that was much more sporty and adapted to the sport.

By pushing the boundaries of his discipline, René created a true movement that has endured for 90 years both on and off the track.
