The North Face brings its Basecamp to Madrid

This initiative is coming to Madrid, consolidating the brand as a meeting point for nature lovers and explorers.

The North Face brings its Basecamp to Madrid

The North Face The North Face arrives in Madrid to celebrate 25 years of its iconic Summit Series line with a week of immersive, free experiences in the heart of the city. From 12 to 18 November, the shop at 14 Calle del Carmen will be transformed into an urban base camp where Madrid’s outdoor community and creative scene can come together.

The brand, a pioneer in technical equipment and limitless exploration, is also celebrating the launch of its new Advanced Mountain Kit (AMK), the most advanced modular system in its history. A statement of intent about the future of mountaineering, textile technology and functional design.

For seven days, the space will become a meeting point for adventurers, athletes and curious minds who see the mountains as a form of expression. Talks, screenings, masterclasses and interactive experiences will redefine the concept of exploration. All without leaving the city.

Among the highlights of the week is the Speaker Series with David Göttler —13 November, 8 p.m.—, a movie night where the German mountaineer shares his vision of high-altitude adventure and the challenges of his latest expedition to Nanga Parbat, one of the most challenging peaks in the Himalayas. An intimate session with conversation, unpublished images and refreshments.

Basecamp Madrid will also offer masterclasses led by mountain guides and experts who will address topics such as safety, orientation and reading the terrain. Photographer and guide José Núñez will take the experience to a more visual level with four sessions focusing on climbing photography in La Pedriza (15 November) and navigation during ski touring trips in Norway (16 November), exploring the aesthetics and technique of contemporary mountaineering.

In addition, visitors will be able to try out the Altitude Simulator, a hypoxia generator that recreates the sensation of walking at altitude, and discover the Advanced Mountain Kit Tech Lab, where the technologies of the new AMK are presented as engineering pieces for the future of mountaineering. Those who register for the XPLR Pass programme will receive an exclusive carabiner, while Summit Series purchasers will receive a product care guide and repair kit.

The North Face thus reaffirms its mission to inspire the explorer community and create a culture where technical innovation, sustainability and curiosity meet. For one week, Madrid becomes the summit.
