Kourtney Kardashian has shared on Instagram some details about the design process of the wedding dress she wore in Portofino.
Celebrating a year since she started the process of designing her wedding dress, Kourtney K wanted to remember on Instagram what was the inspiration. The celebrity wore a Dolce&Gabbana piece inspired by the 90s in this third wedding with Travis Barker held in Portofino. In the post she shows a carousel of images from the day of the ceremony, as well as several sketches of the design.
Her first source of inspiration was the video clip of ‘November Rain’ by Guns N’Roses, which the couple had watched the night before getting engaged. Kourtney noticed the short wedding dress and instantly fell in love. She also took a cue from a sultry Monica Bellucci campaign for Blumarine in the 1990s.
Kourtney commented that the fact that the wedding was to be held in Portofino influenced the vibe and feel of the styling. The Kardashian said that she even felt chills when the firm proposed the idea of including Travis’ tattoo of the Virgin Mary and the words “family”, “loyalty” and “respect” on the veil. And so she did, she wore a long lace veil full of special details, including the tattoo that her husband wears on his head.
In addition, Kourtney was inspired by the iconic NSFW influences, something very unconventional in a wedding since the white color of a wedding dress denotes purity. However, the couple wanted to express themselves freely and celebrate their version of love and their sexual nature despite the negative responses.
