The Residency collection by Christopher Kane through self-portrait

A series of self-portraits captured by Larissa Hofmann’s lens during a live session last Thursday in London.

The exclusive event, hosted by Han Chong-founder and Creative Director of Self-Portrait-and Kane, the brand’s inaugural resident designer, transcended convention. An unprecedented 100-guest dinner immersed attendees in the session’s vibrant creative scene, blurring the boundaries between design, photography and social experience.

As a prelude, Carine Roitfeld starred in a teaser for the collection. Immortalised in her Parisian residence by Hofmann, Roitfeld brought her iconic vision to this anticipated series, which will continue to unfold in the coming weeks with a wider cast of models.

The Residency collection is a tribute to Christopher Kane‘s archives, reinterpreting key elements of his legacy, including a nod to his unforgettable SS07 debut. Designs such as crystal chain mail, delicate lace ruffles and bias-cut satin dresses with intricate panels reflect his signature transgressive elegance. The collection also includes crystal embellished mini-dresses, sophisticated knitwear with lace cut-outs and vibrant accessories such as lace handle bags and crystal necklaces.
