The urban sophistication of Palm Angels

Palm Angels debuts on the Paris catwalk with a collection for Fall 2023 that enters a new dimension of luxury.

Francisco Ragazzi’s brand debuts on the Paris catwalk with a collection for FW23 that opens a new era for Palm Angels, influenced by the codes of avant-garde tailoring and by the elevation of its skater aesthetic to the height of luxury.

Ragazzi then channels that evolution of the label that emerged in 2011 in the form of a photographic documentation of the city’s skate culture, as a project that was later eternalized in a book in 2014, and in a cult streetwear brand in 2015. All that transformation is what now structures and erects this new proposal in which the creative director evokes the constant metaphor of vintage clothing enhanced by proximity.

Among the distinctive signs of the collection, golden hardware stands out as a constant that runs through and embellishes the entire collection, as do the elongated silhouettes of sharp tailoring in womenswear. A feminine subdivision in which all that formality dressed in dark blue almost black is subverted by prints such as fossilized skeletons in the workwear pieces or double patches on the knees.

A NEW DIMENSION OF LUXURY

In this sense, among garments made in a large constellation of materials such as velvet or denim, transparencies also appear sealed by the motif of golden palm trees, as well as the hoods of sweatshirts of other garments following this chromatic coordination with gold.

If we put the focus on menswear, we can see how the iconography of Palm Angels is once again represented through its graphics on luxury materials with hardware finishes. Elements that coexist in harmony with other pieces such as oversized shearlings, dungarees transformed into mini-dresses, crochet or sheepskin garments, jeans with metallic treatment, and a series of jewelry and accessories that eclipse a whole sequence of glitter and sparkles in the collection.

Finally, following in essence and concept this metamorphosis in which the streetwear brand is deeply immersed, the looks have just been closed and elevated by a series of sophisticated loafers in eel and gommino leather designed in collaboration with the Italian brand Tod’s.
