The versatile woman of David Koma Resort 2023

David Koma explores the chameleonic character of the 21st century woman in his new Resort 2023 collection.

David Koma(@davidkomalondon) woman changes register in Resort 2023. Reflecting her multifaceted character, in the new season she embarks on an otherworldly adventure through a rocky landscape of volcanic islands and snow-capped mountain ranges.

Its strength and adventurous spirit is intertwined with sensuality in garments that mask and reveal the feminine silhouette. Delicate lace appears alongside leather garments. The horseshoe motif appears on a printed T-shirt and on hems cut in the shape of a horseshoe, embroidered with metallic ball chains.

The Iris flower, symbol of wisdom, courage and the link between heaven and earth, permeates the designer’s collection. The flower here is strongly presented and appears hand-drawn, as if the wearer were tattooed with crystallized black ink. Elsewhere, the flower melds into three-dimensional metallic embellishments that adorn necklaces and necklines of garments. Evoking the organic, irregular shape of iris petals, elongated ruffles add movement to garments.

As for footwear, once again this season the designer returns with new silhouettes. Thigh-high boots with metallic toe caps in seasonal colors such as pale pink neoprene and stretch denim. Western inspirations are seen in extra tall cowboy and ankle boots, as well as mules in chestnut brown, embossed silver and classic black and white. Iris boots with hand-embroidered iridescent crystals complete the collection.

The disparity of David Koma Resort 2023 scenarios is a nod to the contrasts of the inner Koma woman. She exudes the energy of the story’s main character, with a wardrobe that embraces the duality and contradictions of the modern woman and pays homage to the multiple roles she plays.
