These are Barack Obama’s favourite films this year

The former US president is not afraid to share his most personal tastes with the world.

As tradition dictates, and with the aim of taking stock of the year that is coming to an end, Obama has made a special ranking of the films he liked most during 2023. We don’t know if they follow some kind of order or if they have simply been placed at random, but it is striking that three of the candidates have been produced by Higher Ground Productions, a company founded by him and his wife in 2018.

However, in the recap we find big box-office hits such as ‘Oppenheimer’ and ‘Air’, and other auteur films such as ‘Past Lives’ and ‘Polite Society’. In addition, the politician wanted to dedicate a few words to those workers in the industry who are currently on strike due to their precarious work situation: “At the beginning of the year, screenwriters and actors went on strike to demand better working conditions and protection. The result was important changes that will improve the industry”.
