We talk to make-up artist Marta Arce, who just a few days ago was backstage at Paris Fashion Week, taking part in the beauty part of some of the most important fashion shows, such as those of Dior and Valentino. Discover the beauty trends for next season.
Paris Fashion Week is one of the most important and renowned catwalks on the international scene. But not only to discover the fashion trends for the coming seasons, but also for the beauty world. The make-up proposals presented at the catwalk shows attract a great deal of attention, thus announcing the make-up trends for the coming year.
Make-up artist Marta Arce attended Paris Fashion Week to work on the teams of some of the most important make-up artists in the industry. The creative tells us that “there was a lot of care when it came to working the models’ skin. We were looking for an even skin, not flat, simple and natural looking. Very neutral tones were used for the eyes and lips, and the tone of the face was very natural and fresh, seeking to enhance the most beautiful aspects of each complexion”.
Marta Arce says that “in the coming seasons we will say goodbye to pink tones and powder products will be left behind to welcome the era of cream products. The importance of creating a good make-up also lies in skin care, working on the skin before applying make-up is fundamental to obtain a natural result and a healthy skin feeling, says the make-up artist”.
As we discovered last year and as Marta recalls, “we come from a very glossy make up, using a lot of highlighter and looking for a skin with a lot of shine. Now, the big make-up brands are taking the path towards naturalness and sophistication. Neither matte nor shiny, just the right amount of juicy skin that gives off a healthy look”. No-make-up make-up is on the rise and will be the star of the coming season.
