According to a study conducted by WeThrift, the online coupon platform, which analysed a list of the 30 best designer handbags, these are the bags with the highest resale value:
In first place, the luxury handbag with the highest resale value is the 1991 Hermès Mini Kelly. Known for its timeless and elegant design, its resale value is almost £35,000 (€40,600). This figure shows a 468% increase in value since its launch, as it originally sold for £6,159. This represents a very successful return on investment.
Second on the list is the Chanel 2.55, instantly recognisable for its iconic quilting and opulence and style, three reasons for its resale price of £6,862 (almost €8,000). Currently, its retail price is €4,350, so its value has increased by 183%.
In third place is Philip Lim‘s Alix Chain Crossbody 3.1 bag, first launched in 2015 for €739.20. Seven years later, its value has increased by 78% and the increase in searches increased by 8300% in just one year.
