This autumn, Louis Vuitton smells like vanilla

‘Fantasmagory’ is the Maison’s new fragrance, conceived as an ode to sensory excess.

Louis Vuitton once again pushes the boundaries of perfumery with the latest addition to its Les Extraits collection. ‘Fantasmagory’ is conceived as a kind of hypnotic journey through the duality of vanilla, that timeless ingredient that now unfolds between light, shadow, purity and desire.

Master perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud challenges the olfactory clichés of the most universal note in perfume, reconstructing it from a new and unexpected perspective. Tahitensis vanilla from Papua New Guinea serves as the starting point for a composition that blends spicy aniseed, soft flowers and warm leather accords, creating an unsettling balance between sweetness and darkness.

The olfactory experience is completed with a delicately designed bottle by Frank Gehry, who reinterprets Marc Newson‘s original design with an ethereal twist: a cap in the shape of floating metallic petals, almost in motion, which seems to capture the very energy of the fragrance. A liquid jewel that oscillates between architecture, art and longing.

‘Fantasmagory’ is now available on the official Louis Vuitton website.
