Michael Lorenzini’s ‘Every Pill I Took: 2000-2001’ is the definitive book reflecting the New York clubbing scene in small pills.

A unique publication from Blurring Books, the publishing house created by DB Burkeman, DJ and one of the pioneers of rave culture in the United States, specifically in the city that never sleeps. It brings together through images up to 30 varieties of ecstasy pills that the protagonist came across over the course of a year.

“In the late 90s and early 2000s I was working as a photographer in New York chronicling the rave and clubbing scene, and after trying the first E I became fascinated by pills and their logos,” says Michael Lorenzini in the genesis of the book. “I was fascinated by the branding of the pills, which often bore the logos of big companies. I loved the irony of pill manufacturers literally shoving company logos down our throats,” he adds.

‘Every Pill I Took: 2000-2001’ is now available for purchase through blurringbooks.com.
