Most people go to Coachella to show off, right? Right. Music is usually something secondary, unfortunately.
During the last few weeks instagram was filled with images of people enjoying themselves in Coachella, but were they really there?
Artist and YouTuber Gabbie Hanna (@gabbiehanna) – with over 3.5 million followers – has long been very critical of the festival and is for that very reason, so her followers were very confused when she started publishing photos in Indio – where the festival is held – last weekend. It turns out that all her photos were photoshopped – she faked the whole trip to invite reflection on the use of social networks.
Hanna detailed the entire experiment in a vlog uploaded some days ago. So she decided to “get the best of both worlds” she got the best place at the festival, without paying for tickets or travel and without spending three days waiting for the Ubers to connect the AirBnB to the main stage.
“I know people who double up their outfits on the first weekend and take photos so they can pretend to go to both weekends,” she explained. “So what i’m doing is not that far from reality.”
La influencer staged her photos of Coachella at a friend’s house (emulating an elegant AirBnB), and on the lawn of Marina del Rey. Posing with colorful wigs and tiny shorts, played with photoshop and included the Coachella crowds in the background. Thousands of people were fooled.

A trick for social networks that will go down in history. If next year you can’t afford the trip, you can consider this much cheaper alternative – Hanna says she had “a lot” of fun during the shooting, and got a much better understanding of why people go to Coachella.
