An exclusive dinner hosted by Laura Vandall and Edgar Kerri with Soho House and a unique afterparty at WHELL.
The night of 31 October is already being hailed as the most entertaining of the year in the capital. This is according to those in attendance who, dressed in their finest costumes — the standard of which was truly admirable this year — arrived punctually for their date last Friday, with Laura Vandall and Edgar Kerri as the undisputed hosts, courtesy of Soho House.
Ester Expósito, Brays Efe, Javier Calvo, Fernando Valdivielso, Carla Paucar, Álex Turrión, Miguel Becer, Amanda Portillo, Songa Park, Lola Rodríguez, Alex de Lucas, Yenesi, Paco León, Andrea Vandall, Nina Urgell… Nobody wanted to miss it.
In the long, chilling corridor of an old school in the centre of Madrid, an impressive table welcomed nearly one hundred guests, excited to discover who was wearing the best outfit—and all the surprises the evening had in store. All creative direction was handled by Edgar Kerri and Laura Vandall, with art direction by Ilduara Vandall, who transformed the space into a distorted universe somewhere between elegant and disturbing. In the kitchen, Ángela Gimeno designed a menu that was as sophisticated as it was unsettling—each dish conceived as a kind of visual ritual.
And just when it seemed like things couldn’t get any better, there was a surprise: the magnetic appearance of Laura Bluetooth, showgirl and dancer, who mesmerised the room and announced the inevitable: the night wasn’t ending there, but at WHELL, the ultimate afterparty held at the city’s new meeting place for clubbing lovers: CORE.
WHELL took centre stage in the second half of the night, starting at midnight, when more figures from the creative scene joined in, such as Alex Pastrana, Ana Viglione and Margil Peña from REPARTO, and Cayetana Guillén-Cuervo, among many others. Everyone enjoyed the most entertaining Halloween party since Laguille decided to host it exactly one year ago, with its first edition being a resounding success and this second edition reaffirming its popularity.
The line-up, which was kept secret until the last moment, consisted of Joao Lagrima de Ouro, Nina UC, Linapary and Distort, who kept the crowd dancing non-stop. There was only one moment of silence: the verdict of the costume contest deliberated by the members of the exquisite jury —Miguel Becer, Carla Paucar, Brays Efe and Laguille—. Andrea Vandall was crowned queen of the night and presented with an exclusive luxury handbag, as is tradition. Although at WHELL, as always, everyone was a winner—literally—with a gift from Belvedere.
We haven’t even got over Friday night yet and we’re already looking forward to the next HALLOWHELL…
