This is Sabato De Sarno’s first campaign for Gucci

This is the new Gucci jewellery campaign, starring Daria Werbowy and the first from new creative director Sabato de Sarno, who has taken over from Alessandro Michele.

After seven years at the helm of the brand, Alessandro Michele said farewell to Gucci, leaving a very high standard. His position has been filled since January by designer Sabato De Sarno. Born in Naples, Sabato started at Prada in 2005. He was also at Dolce & Gabbana and, in 2009, moved to Valentino, where he became Fashion Director.

Now, Gucci‘s new jewellery campaign is creative director Sabato De Sarno’s first for the house. Captured through the lens of photographer David Sims, the campaign stars Daria Werbowy wearing pieces from the Marina Chain jewellery collection. This campaign is a celebration of Sabato’s debut in the fashion world, and another debut, this time at Gucci.

The Marina Chain jewellery collection, whose distinctive design is inspired by an anchor chain, was introduced in the late 1960s in the form of a bracelet. Marina Chain, which reappeared over the following decades, has come to represent an iconic element of Gucci’s history and the flagship collection of the House’s jewellery offering.

The campaign, for which Polish-born Canadian supermodel Daria and iconic fashion photographer David worked together to create a beautiful statement, was shot at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles and embodies Sabato’s vision of a story that unfolds freely, but always in a meaningful way.
