This is the first collaboration between the creators of the iconic 1460 boot and New York streetwear designers. The Dr. Martens x Awake NY collection features the recently launched Lowell silhouette to create an expressive collection inspired by the spirit and energy of New York’s subcultures.
The product launch campaign draws on the Cumbia music scene, a melting pot of contemporary genres and traditional sounds that can be traced back countless generations in Latin America. A coming together of people with different perspectives and backgrounds to create something new yet familiar, unique yet deeply rooted.
The Lowell shoe
The 4-eyelet shoe is crafted from Hair-On leather in vibrant shades of green or navy, with a contrasting black oiled leather back strap embossed with the Awake NY logo. Highlighted by tonal stitching details on the quarter and moc-toe upper, the Lowell shoe includes a comfortable padded collar and is finished with gold star-shaped eyelets.
The upper sits on a sturdy smoke-toned BEN sole with classic Dr. Martens yellow stitching. Each pair comes with 3 additional sets of coloured laces for even more individual style expression. The collection will be available from 6 December at both brands’ online shops, selected Dr. Martens shops, the Awake NY shop in New York and selected retailers.
